Leisure

Ilford offers a wealth of outdoor and indoor leisure activities, from beautiful parks through to cultural and historic places to visit.

Cycling

Redbridge was the first London Borough to benefit from the 2012 Olympic legacy. This £4.5 million state of the art cycling centre was built by the London Development Agency.

Managed by Vision - Redbridge Culture and Leisure - The Redbridge Cycling Centre is a unique facility in South East England which can host national and international events as well as providing a brilliant facility for local residents, thus helping make Redbridge a better place to live.

Gyms

Across the country, membership of gyms is growing as people discover the benefits of regular, structured exercise. Ilford is no exception to the trend and residents are amply served by surrounding council owned as well as privately run fitness centres.

Both Esporta and Fitness First operate private gyms in Ilford.

Skate Parks

Seven Kings Park and Forest Road Playing Fields in Hainault are home to skateboarders and roller bladers who love the challenge that the only two purpose built skate parks in the borough offer.

With hi-tech equipment such as:

  • a half-pipe
  • quarter pipes
  • fun box and grind rails
  • hip ramp
  • 1.2m ramp and platform
  • pyramid box
  • spine ramp

there is plenty of scope for performing spectacular stunts! Equipment varies in each park so be sure to visit them both.
