Council supports funding for Olympic celebrations

Council confirms funding for Olympic celebrations in Ilford.

At last night's Council Cabinet meeting, the Council agreed to offer funding and support for the Active Ilford project to celebrate the 2012 Olympic games in London. The programme of events will be jointly organised by the Council, Vision RCL and the Ilford Business Improvement District team.  In total, the support from the Council is estimated at £50,000 although some of this is provided by offering services for free.  The Ilford Business Improvement District will be funding £100,000 for the project.

Fees for licensing and planning permission will be funded by the Council, although all of the events will still be subject to the relevant planning and licensing laws where necessary.
