Summer of fun for ilford town

There’s set to be a summer of fun in Ilford as the Town Centre gears up to host five themed entertainment days, every Wednesday from 27thJuly to 31stAugust.

The first ‘Wacky Wednesday’ kicks off with ‘Ilford by the Sea’ providing kids with trampoline trailers, sandpits and buckets and spades, deck chairs and even popcorn and candy floss in an inflatable house.

On the 10thAugust, the town centre will run a special sports day at which older children can get involved in a football and basketball shootout  whilst a bouncy castle, fussball table and buzz bar will keep the younger ones happy.

The ‘Western Rodeo Day’ on the 17thAugust will feature a rodeo bull ride and cork shooting, plus cactus lassoing for the over 8’s, and on the 24th, the ‘Circus Day will be one to remember with a bouncy castle, face painting, a circus entertainer, flower pot stilts, hoola hoops and more!

Wacky Wednesday’s culminates with an ‘Olympic’ event on the 31stAugust where visitors can try their strength on the inflatable bungee log-run and a climbing wall, or get involved in a giant snakes & ladder game.

All the events, which are being organised by Ilford Town Centre Business Improvement District, take place in the pedestrianised area of Ilford Town Centre outside Waterstones and Argos and will run from 11am to 4pm. They are also free of charge.

“We are putting on a great show during the summer holidays and we want everyone to come down and get involved,” says Diane Norton, Ilford Town Centre Co-Ordinator. “It will be a lot of fun and a brilliant way to keep the kids entertained, and most importantly it costs nothing at all!”
